Yeah, it just contextualizes it all. It seems much more manageable when you show compassion to it more than like calling it names and challenging it to be tougher.
They always told me my son was a healer. Now I know he’s doing his work through me. I can sense it. It’s peaceful. I feel lighter, I can move, I can breathe, I can keep my head up.
Woah! I’m not used to this. It’s like my body is moving on it’s own without me thinking. It feels good. It feels good to show myself this compassion. I normally just talk and talk and talk about it. Here I can feel it and it is more than words and I like how it a lot.
This is valuable information. I could feel myself not wanting to go there because it hurts but I could, somehow, feel safe at the same time and this allows me to just ask the next question and learn a little more. And this feels like freedom.
I’m deeply curious. There are parts of my body that I can no longer feel from my spinal cord injury, so this really strange for me to sense different parts of my body “talking” to each other like my body is trying to help itself.
This is important. It’s not always easy, but I want to be clear that it’s very important. Finding just that one glimmer of compassion for myself changes everything.
I feel more hopeful, like almost having more faith in myself and in my body in being able to either overcome it or for my body to tell me what it needs. Like more trust… So I feel a lot more peaceful and a lot more hopeful.
Throughout all of this, you’ve encouraged me to take my time, and that’s when I’ve noticed the most strides forward… I was able to recognize and remember that this is my body that takes care of me and I’m here with it now.
I feel like when I first started meditating it took me months to figure out what worked for me… It took minutes of working with you on this to be able to actually get it and feel results… It’s wild. It’s cool.
